Community Building in eHabitats

Community building and organizing are two of the main objectives of eHabitats. eHabitats unites community members such as local youth residents, local businesses and other organizations with the theme of helping the community.

Community regeneration and building is vital to eHabitats’ overall success. Buildings can be molded with the services provided by any number of organizations, but only the people who live in those buildings will ensure lasting changes. We have had tremendous success in helping residents take action to rebuild their own communities.

Youth residents working together to build their community enhances the bonding in each neighborhood and improves cultural and social understanding. Young leaders in each community are supported in guiding their community resources, ensuring that available time and money are maximized with strategic partnerships that help to build a better community with lasting changes.

eHabitats Community Entrepreneurial Opportunity Initiative

eHabitats’ Youth Resident Leadership Initiative provides training to young resident leaders through Community Entrepreneurial Opportunity (CEO), to enhance the role of youth residents in community regeneration. We implement strategies to support youth resident-led community development projects, to strengthen young local leadership and to build the capacity of local leaders. Our online “i-Learning” tools and the “Idea Orchard” give leaders a continual opportunity to share experiences with and learn from their peers all around the world.

eHabitats Community Entrepreneurial Opportunity Initiative Goals

Through program development and research, we develop replicable models for best practices to:

Develop community by business work plans organized and developed by youth resident leadership.
Develop measures and documentation systems for the community.
Develop the organizational structures and practices that are needed for effective community participation.
Develop a culture and climate of frequent information and knowledge exchange.
