The program's overall goal is “Resident-led community change".

eHabitats contributes to national programs that strive to reach common goals, share resources and inspire originality to regenerate their communities. These national programs will promote one of the goals of eHabitats "Bringing Information Technology to every community without depriving any community”.

Results have ranged from organizations understanding the importance of creating a coherent plan of action to residents being very proactive in making key decisions that have had a long-term positive impact on their communities.
